Delete your GroGro account
GroGro is published by Protopia. Use this page to request deletion of your
GroGro account and the cloud data linked to it.
How to request account deletion
- Send an email from the address linked to your GroGro account to
info@protopia.uk
with the subject line GroGro account deletion request.
- In the email, confirm that you want your GroGro account and associated cloud data deleted.
- We will verify that the request comes from the account owner and confirm deletion by email within
30 days (usually sooner).
What we delete
When your account deletion request is processed, we delete from our cloud services (Google Firebase):
- Your Firebase Authentication account (Google or email sign-in)
- Farms you own, including plants, clusters, zones, species customisations, and related metadata
- Photos stored in Firebase Storage for your farms
- Active share codes you created
- Your membership in farms shared with you by others (you lose access; the farm owner’s data is not deleted)
What may be kept
- Data on your device: Local SQLite data remains until you uninstall the app or clear app data on your device. Uninstalling GroGro after account deletion removes local copies.
- Backups and logs: Encrypted Firebase backups and server logs may be retained for up to 90 days for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance, then permanently deleted.
- Aggregated or anonymised data: We do not sell personal data. We do not retain identifiable personal data after deletion except as noted above.
Delete data without deleting your account
You can delete individual farms, plants, clusters, zones, and photos inside the GroGro app without
closing your account. Those deletions sync to the cloud when you are signed in and online.
